Minnamurra Pastoral Company was established in 1974 by Bruce Reid. Today, in the hands of David Reid and Dennis Power, it stretches over 100,000 hectares and is one of the finest commercial cattle operations in Australia.
Bulls are tested in the commercial operation to identify the best options for the stud herd. Assessment is made of commercial progeny through extensive herd recording and feedback from processors and through feedback trials.
This unique information is then incorporated into the breeding plans of the stud herd resulting in the rapid genetic progress of the traits that contribute most to the bottom line in commercial scenarios.
The company is currently in the process of converting 6,500 of their commercial breeders to Speckle Park as well as establishing a 500 breeder stud herd. The Minnamurra focus is all about commercial performance, fertility, calving ease, structural soundness, growth and carcass quality.
Not only does he have performance, he has type. Long, smooth and thick, with great feet and legs, a wonderful outlook, large scrotal circumference and easy fluent action, Leander L81 has it all. He also has a great temperament.
